Privacy Policy
1. About this policy
This policy explains how MovarOS PTY LTD (ACN 678 781 523) (“MovarOS”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information. We are an Australian company and we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. Which websites this policy covers
MovarOS PTY LTD owns and operates the following websites and the brands trading under them:
- movaros.com — MovarOS
- swiftcargo.solutions — Swift Cargo Solutions
- expatsdirect.net — Expats Direct, including its white-label deployments. These operate under the Expats Direct service and are covered by this policy, and include selectedresidences.com (Selected Residences).
- swiftpets.co — SwiftPets
- swiftpetflights.com — Swift Pet Flights
Each of these brands is operated by MovarOS PTY LTD. Where you deal with any of them, you are dealing with MovarOS PTY LTD as the responsible entity for your personal information.
We also publish demonstration websites on subdomains of movaros.com. Any site on a movaros.com subdomain is a demonstration built for a prospective client. It is not a trading service. It does not collect or use customer information for any purpose, and it is not connected to any of our back-of-house systems. These sites are deliberately excluded from search engine indexing. If someone finds such a site and submits their details, those details are not saved and the enquiry is not serviced. In the unlikely event that any data were captured through a demonstration site, it would be deleted. If you believe this has happened, contact us at privacy@movaros.com.
3. Relationship to individual site policies
Several of the websites listed above publish their own privacy policy. Those site-specific policies continue to apply to information collected on that site, and are the policy presented to you at the point you provide your details.
This group policy supplements those policies. It does not replace them. Where a site-specific policy provides more detail about that brand’s handling of your information, that detail applies in addition to what is set out here.
4. Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to respond to your enquiry and deliver the service you have asked about. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Name, email address, telephone or mobile number, and preferred contact method
- Origin and destination details, dates, and the nature of the goods, pets or household items involved
- Quote, estimate and booking information, including correspondence with us
- Information you volunteer in forms, calls, emails or messages
- Technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies
5. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare quotes or estimates
- To contact you about your enquiry across the channels you have agreed to, including telephone, email, SMS and messaging applications
- To arrange and coordinate the service with our fulfilment partners
- To provide customer support and handle complaints
- To meet legal, customs, insurance and regulatory obligations
- To improve our websites, services and customer journeys
6. SMS and text messaging
Where you provide a mobile number and consent to be contacted by SMS, we may send you messages about your enquiry, quote, booking and related services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance.
Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchase, and withdrawing it does not affect your quote or booking.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
7. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to deliver the service you have asked for, or where we are required to by law. This may include:
- Fulfilment partners directly involved in your job — movers, freight forwarders, pet transport operators, airlines, local collection and delivery teams, and destination agents
- Customs, quarantine, border and regulatory authorities where required for your shipment or animal movement
- Service providers that support our operations, such as hosting, communications, payment and CRM providers, bound by confidentiality obligations
- Other MovarOS brands listed in section 2, where your enquiry spans more than one service line
- Legal and regulatory recipients where disclosure is required or authorised by law
Every partner and provider we share information with is required to protect it and to use it only for the purpose we disclosed it for.
The restrictions on mobile and text messaging data set out in section 6 apply to all sharing described in this section, without exception.
8. Overseas recipients
Our services are international by nature. To move goods, household items or animals across borders we may disclose your information to fulfilment partners, agents and authorities located outside Australia, in the origin and destination countries relevant to your job. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as long as we are required to keep it for legal, tax, insurance or regulatory reasons. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Cookies
Our websites use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
12. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete
- Withdraw consent to marketing or to a particular contact channel, including SMS
- Ask us to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep
- Make a complaint about how we have handled your information
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@movaros.com. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
13. Children
Our services are directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published at this address, with the effective date shown at the top. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date.
